Wow! What a day yesterday!!
Please give your children an extra hug for me. They were truly amazing last all day. Calm, progressional, polite audience members and beautiful performers. All their hard work these past fews months sure paid off!
I'll see everyone on Tuesday for a final rehearsal before our concert at the seniors (there may be a few extra-ful songs to learn!) Please bring your binder as I will be collecting all the winter music back before break.

Enjoy your chilly Sunday,
Ms. Alpaugh

Music Notes Week 8

Another fabulous week spent with your children.  The concerts will be filled with your amazing singers.  Hopefully you have received a notice on Tuesday with updated information regarding the next few weeks. Please continue to practise with the Youtube clips found on the blog.

Thank you to all of the families that helped with putting away chairs and tables, bringing in silent auction items, and helping to organize the silent auction.

Saturday will be a busy day. I hope you've had a chance to check that your child's uniform fits well, if you have any questions or concerns please contact Jacquie jstrom@sd73.bc.ca
Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately in concert attire

Girls: Hair in French braid, black tights, black skort, black jazz shoes, red KTCC shirt. No make up or jewelry please.

-Boys: Hair neatly combed, black jazz shoes, black socks, black dress pants (no jeans please), red KTCC shirt.

Please ensure that your child carries their jazz shoes into the concerts and puts them on at arrival.

The first concert is at Kamloops United Church 421 St Paul St. Please drop your child at 1 PM and take their belongings (boots and coats) with you. The children will be excused together at the intermission.

Our evening concert with the Kamloops Thompson Honour Choir is at the Calvary Community Church on Rogers Way in Aberdeen. Please arrive with your child at 5:45. They will have a chance to see and hear the space prior to the concert beginning. Again please take your child's belongings with you.

Also we will have our silent auction running on Saturday evening. The auction will be open prior to the concert and again following it. We are excited to announce some of the wonderful donations for many different items including: teeth whitening treatment, restaurants, movie tickets, craft basket, David's Tea, knitting, children's games and much more....

For those who ordered poinsettias and wreaths, they will be available on Tuesday for pick up at the Grube.

There are still Blazer tickets available - get yours soon. They make a fabulous Christmas gift. Vouchers are good for any home game that isn't a playoff. You just trade them in at the box office for a game.

Music Notes Week 7

It was a quick turn around since our last rehearsal, and it's amazing how much improvement was demonstrated today by your children.  Only one more practise before their debut together this year.  We are very excited for their first concert.  Please continue to practise the music with the clips posted on the website.

The children had the opportunity to rehearse with Ron Routledge today who will be singing Christmastime with the children.  It was wonderful for the children to experience an adult who loves to sing too!

To find the clips, click on the youtube link near the top of the screen.  Then you will find each song individually listed.  If you are having any trouble with the songs, please email Jacquie jstrom@sd73.bc.ca

The children have another sticker challenge to fulfill this week.  If they practise their songs on four days during the next week they will earn 2 stickers.

Thank you to all of the families that brought in donations for our silent auction.  We greatly appreciate all of the goodies that have been brought in so far.  We are looking forward to all of the wonderful donations on display at the evening concert on Nov 29.

Keep using your wonderful voices!

Music Notes Week 6

Thanks to all for coming out on Saturday for the special craft day.  Your children are continuing to improve and special events like this allow them to grow so much in one day!  There's a sticker challenge happening until Tuesday, which your child already knows about.  For each day that they practise their music with the recordings posted online they will earn a sticker.  Stickers are eligible for Saturday, Sunday and Monday!  An additional sticker can be earned if your child is able to draw all of the correct gifts as Mrs. Froese did for them on Saturday.

This Tuesday we will be meeting at the Alliance Church located across the street (Fortune Dr) from the Henry Grube Centre.  We will still get going at 3:45.

Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped out on Saturday with bingo, Christmas card creations and uniform sizing.  If you can please check to see if your child's uniform fits them.  If you have any issues please let Jacquie know ASAP so we can make adjustments.

In case you missed out on poinsettias and wreaths on Saturday, your last chance to order is Tuesday!  Poinsettias are 6.5" and are available in red, white or pink.  They are $12 each.  Wreaths are 22" and come with bows and berries.  They are available for $25 each.

Blazer ticket vouchers are also still available for $12 each.  These vouchers are good for any home game that is not a playoff.  There are still many games to choose from!

Silent auction items are still being accepted.  Thanks to those who have brought something in.

See you Tuesday at the Alliance Church!

Music Notes Week 5

Thank you to all for another week full of improvements and children passionate about singing!  Jennica has uploaded some additional recordings for the children to listen to each day and continue practising and working on their memorization.  This is critical for the choir to be ready for the concert in just a few short rehearsals!

Great work on memorizing Christmas Fir this past week!

Thanks to the families who helped with chairs this past week, and to those who brought in silent auction items.  Please keep on bringing in items - they are greatly appreciated!

Our next rehearsal is Saturday November 15 at Beattie School of the Arts (next Tuesday is Remembrance Day) beginning at 9 AM.  Please park at Safeway and walk your child down, as municipal voting is occurring at the same time.  Students  will enter close to the portables.

On craft day Jacquie will be selling poinsettias and wreaths as a one day only fundraiser.  All money raised stays with our choir.  Wreaths are 22” and come complete with berries and bows and are $25 each; Poinsettias are 6.5” and are available in red, pink or white for $12 each.  Poinsettias and wreaths will be available for pick up on Tuesday December 2

Blazer ticket vouchers are also still available for $12 and are good for any regular home game - still lots to choose from!

Donations Needed!

As we get closer to our silent auction (formerly loonie auction) date we are in desperate need of more donations.  Currently we do not have enough donations to run a silent auction.  If each family could please talk to a couple of businesses and get a couple of donations it ensures that the choir has enough funding for the year.  Our main goal for the fundraiser is to be able to purchase new uniforms for the choir.  However, in addition to that we require funding for concert venues (we love to hear the children sing!) as well as having the children's transportation covered for school tours that occur in the spring.

If you need a copy of the letter please email Jacquie jstrom@sd73.bc.ca to receive a digital copy

Alternatively, I will have some copies available on Tuesday on the table outside of the rehearsal room.

Thank you in advance for your help in ensuring Kamloops Thompson Children's Choir continues to be successful
