Music Notes Week 28

It was a successful tour!  The choir had a great time showcasing their talents at four different schools over the last two days.  You are in for quite a show on Sunday evening at the Sagebrush Theatre.  The concert begins at 6:30 PM, but before we get there.....

Please have your child at the Sagebrush Theatre around 1:15.  We will go in backstage door(at the top of the stairs from Munro St).  Please have your child dressed in full uniform as we will be taking professional pictures at the rehearsal.  If you need help with hair braiding, please have your child there beforehand.  We will be finished by 3:15 PM for a break.  Then please have your child back to the Sagebrush (drop them at the back door again) at 6:00 PM.   Don't forget to carry your jazz shoes into the building.

There are a few students that I have not yet heard from regarding their intentions for next year.  If you can please bring back the purple form ASAP to let us know if we are saving you a spot for next year, or if you plan on joining the Kamloops Thompson Honour Choir.

We will do a final celebration time at regular rehearsal time on May 3.  Families are invited to join us and share a small treat afterwards.

There are a few new pictures posted at the Grube, and you will be able to see a few more from school tours with the slideshow.

Thank you for ensuring your children were able to join us at school tours, it helps ensure a successful program.  I appreciate you having a prompt pick up each day as well!

Kick your knees up step in time.....

Those words could be heard on Tuesday down the halls of Beattie.  Thanks again parents for making the rehearsal location change work!  Only two rehearsals left before we go out on tour.  We sent home two notes this week.  One is a permission form to head out on tour for Thurs Apr 28 & Fri Apr 29.

The other is information regarding important dates that are upcoming with our final get together on Tuesday May 3.

Below I have included the one newsletter.  Please chat with your child about their intentions for choir for next year and return the bottom part of the form to us so we can reserve your child's spot.

Important dates for Spring

It's amazing how quickly this year has gone and how much your children have grown together as a fantastic group of singers. We are in the final weeks of choir which includes rehearsals, school tours, final concert and a celebration day.

School tours - students will perform at four different schools within the school district to share their love of singing and spread the word about choir. Students will need to be at the Henry Grube Education Centre on Thursday April 28 and Friday April 29. Drop off is 8:15 am. Don’t forget to bring a good snack and a water bottle. Please have your child picked up by 12:00 noon as we need to be back at our respective schools for the afternoon to teach. Thanks for your understanding.  The children will need to come in concert attire -  black tights/skort for girls, pants for boys, red KTCC shirt, hair french braided, no make-up or jewelry please.

Final concert - KTCC will run a technical rehearsal on Sunday May 1 at the Sagebrush Theatre at 1pm Please have your child come dressed in his/her uniform so we are able to take group photos this rehearsal/photo session will be compete at 2:30pm. Unfortunately parents are unable to sit in the theatre and watch during this rehearsal.
Please have your child back at the Sagebrush theatre at 6:00 for a 6:30 concert. The Sagebrush has plenty of seating so invite as many family and friends as you can!

Celebration day - To recognize all of our accomplishments as a choir we will be having a celebration day on Tuesday May 3. At this time we will have uniforms and music returned. Additionally we will share a small treat together. This will be our final meeting together.  Families are invited to join us to share in the celebration.

Students who are in grade three are eligible to remain in KTCC for next year.
Students in grade four will have the opportunity to be a part of Kamloops Thompson Honour Choir.  Please indicate your intentions below.

Thank you to all of the families that made this year such a success. We appreciate all of your hard work in ensuring your child was able to attend rehearsals, concerts and special events. Venue Changed - stay tuned

I received a call late Friday afternoon letting me know that we will need to change our location for choir rehearsal on Tuesday.  I'm working on finding a new rehearsal location for this week.  This affects both choirs.  I will send out another post when I have confirmation.

Thanks for spreading the word!
