Good morning KTCC!
   Wow!!! What a fabulous performance yesterday!  That was along day and your children sang beautifully,  and were very well behaved, we are so proud of them.  Here are a couple of notes for the next couple of choir days.

   THERE IS A PRACTICE TUESDAY DECEMBER 3rd at the Henry Grube centre.

  Call time for the 8th has been changed to 5:30pm for everyone.  There is limited parking downtown so this will prevent anyone from running late due to lack of parking.  There is limited seating at the the Paramount, so we are requesting that your guests are limited to 4 per performer.  With that it will be a tight squeeze!!  Admission is by donation.  same rules apply hair and uniforms mandatory to be on stage with choir.  (any questions read prevoius blog post!)

Parents I am so sorry for the confusion!  THERE IS REHERSAL DEC 3rd!!!! we will be at the Henry Grube center! Cyndy

   What a exciting time we have coming up!  Your amazing children are sounding tremendous!  I hope you get to hear them practicing often!  Here is some important information for you!  please note the changes and details so there are no children left out of the performances!

Nov 26th    Henry Grube center rehearsal

Nov 30th      BELLS CONCERT  if your child needs to have us braid their hair please have them at the church for 1:10pm everyone else 1:25 for warm up Bells concert at United church approximtly 1 1/2 hours long! (*formal uniform, purple dress, black tights with feet! hair in braid, no makeup or jewerly, peacock sash to be tied at the church, jazz shoes to be put on once in the building, parents can take coats and boots at drop off.  Boys black pants and black shoes, white shirt, tie, hair combed neatly) children NOT in uniform will not be participating in this performance!!  If you do not have a uniform please contact me immediately so I can make sure this is take care of for Tuesday!!

The singing today is just amazing!  what a beautiful blessing your children are! In regards to uniforms we have one remaining girls uniform to be fitted, this year though we have many more boys.  If you are the parent of a boy and have black pants and a white button up shirt would you please let me know, if you do not we will supply the need extra uniforms.  thank you Cyndy

We wated to say a huge thank you to all that helped make Saturday a sucess! Your help was very much appreciated! Below you will find uniform instructions.  If your child was not able to make it to craft day, they will recieve their uniforms today. Just a reminder we are at the grube today!

uniform instructions:
1 Jazz shoes cannot be worn outside. Please bring them in the uniform ziplock bag
2 Please DO NOT put the sash on until you arrive at warm up.  the ribbon gets crushed on the drive over
3 Pease keep everything in your uniform bag with your mae on it including hair ribbon

Nov 9th 10:30-1:30pm is our new craft day!  I have had several people say they cannot make the new date, its completely understandable, when dates change.  If you are in a postion that you can NOT make this day please let me know via email(even if you already have).  I just need to make sure our numbers still make it a worth while event.  If you cannot attend we will get you the uniform at the following rehersal. 

**One more important reminder.  I would like to take the oppurtunity to remind everyone that your childs participation in this choir is NOT a Right but IS a PRIVLEDGE.  Ms. Alphaugh, is working hard to create a environment of gratitude and kindness, parents causing a environment of disharmony, by complaining and other negative behaviors are putting their child's invovment in  jepordy.  We are so fortunate to live in school district 73, this is one of the only districts in BC that fund a choir such as ours.  Lets keep our comments about all involved positive and kind, at all times, not just when things go our way!  thanks so much Cyndy

Hello parents, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!!  Thank you to everyone that was able to make it out to sing at the farmers market on Saturday.  It was a bit chilly outside but those littles voices warmed us up fast with their enthusiam.  I was so grateful to be there and hear them singing.

 This a reminder that we are back to rehearsing at the Henry Grube center Tuesday Oct 15th.  Another important date is the craft day that had to be changed to Nov 9th 10:30-1:30 at KSA!  See you Tuesday!

Good morning parents of KTCC ! Thank you to all who chiped in to help in my absence this last Tuesday.   This is a reminder for the upcoming buskers performance on Saturday Oct 12th.  Please be there by 10:15am!  Have your beautiful children in their KTCC tee-shirts handed out at the last rehearsal.  If your child did not recieve one do not worry we will have it for them prior to the performance.  Also just a reminder that Paige is no longer the manager, and she is still recieving texts, which she happily passes on, but will be gone soon and so that communication will be lost, my number is 250-682-0303,  thank you Cyndy

What a great rehearsal we had, your young vocalists are working hard and sounding beautiful!  Just a reminder that your children need to take their name tags when they come to choir it our way of taking attendance, if you could remind them that would be great! 

Ms. Alpaugh, showed the children how to log onto links to further learn their upcoming songs, here they are for you to help them with.  We recommend the children listen/watch the songs and look at their music at the same time but a car play list works well too!

Good evening Parents, once again thank you for checking the blog. Thank you also to all the parents that gave me a heads up that their child was going to be absent.   It seems there was a mix up for a couple of you in regards to location for rehearsal.  This is a reminder that it is your resposibility to check here the night before rehearsal, as was clearly stated at our parent meeting, on occassion we have last minute changes due to unforseen circumstances we will do our best to give you as much notice as possible.  On that note next week we will be rehearsing at KSA (Kamloops School of the Arts) Your children sounded beautiful, it is a absolute pleasure to get to hear their sweet voices! Good afternoon Parents, you have so much to be proud of your children sang beautifully on saturday!  What a wonder morning, we are grateful for all their hard work.  Who would know they had only one practice! WOW!

Just a reminder that unless otherswise posted we will be meeting at the the Henry Grube Center!  See you there!  Remember to have your children grab their name tags and sign in, before heading into practice.  Also you need to come into the building to pick them up and intial the role call, no children will be released untill they are with a seen parent!  See you tomorrow!

** We have been invited to sing at the Kamloops Children’s Festival on Saturday September 14! Our time spot is at 11am so we will be meeting at Riverside Park at 10:30am. This is always an exciting first concert for our choir. All music to be performed at this short concert will be learned at our first rehearsal. This year the theme for Children’s Fest is “Wizards and Wonder” so all choir students are being encouraged to dress as a witch or wizard (or all black with gold accents if you don’t have anything wizardy!) Please mark this date as it will be a fun and important team bonding opportunity!

The kids were full of energy in rehersal today! It makes our jobs much more fun!

Reminder February 9th is the TRU gala which will be in the evening exact time is 6:15 pm, it will be a drop off situation, they will be dropped off at the Campus Activity Centre (the entrance next to the Residents Building). we need 2 parents to help get kids from the cars to our warm up room safely. Pick up will be at the same place at 7:15 pm. WE WILL BE DOING EXACTLY THE SAME SONGS AT THE FINAL CONCERT IN MAY. (hair in ringlets/curled half up half down, wearing blue/gold/white. They need to look like little sailors whatever that means to you. No need to go out and buy new clothes unless you feel you need to) 

Also we’ve chosen to change the next Craft Day to February 23rd! It will begin 9:00am to 12:00pm just like the last!

We need 2 volunteers to lead a Bingo station. If you are interested please email me at ktchildrenchoir@gmail.com 

The Kamloops Festival of Performing Arts dates have now been released. The kids will be performing on Tuesday March 5th at 9:00am-9:20am at the sagebrush theatre we ask they be there for 8:40am that day! (they will be missing school, we will send a letter to all schools) after the performances they will have a workshop. (They will need to be dressed in their purple dresses/white shirts and black pants, hair in a braid, jazz shoes, the works!) They will need to be picked up from the sagebrush theatre at 11:40. They only perform for the 20 mins, the rest of the day will be with the adjudicator, you are welcome to come to the performance in the morning but it’s just the kids for the workshop.

The young singers were so hard working this rehearsal! They revived their new music that we’ll be working on for the spring!

If any of the kids didn’t bring their binder they need to bring them next week so we can give them the new music!
