Festivals March 6th and 7th - Final Notes

Please read the details carefully as this is going to be a very busy event and we need everyone to be organized. We also ask that you ensure the kids have their songs memorized for Tuesday and Wednesday.

New info in bold:

March 6th -
Arts in the High Country Festival
Venue: Sagebrush Theatre
Arrival Time: 8:45 morning
Uniform: We want the children dressed in black pants and teal t-shirt (NOT their stage uniform), hair neat and pulled back, no nail polish, makeup or jewelry.
They are estimating that they will be done at about 10:30

March 7th -
Kamloops Festival of Performing Arts
Venue: Full Gospel Tabernacle 1550 Tranquille Road
Arrival Time: 4:45 evening
Uniform: We want the children dressed in full stage uniform, hair in a french braid, no nail polish, makeup or jewelry.
Estimated end time will be 6:15
Please note that they had some programs go out to the public about a different location which was an error... this is the correct location so disregard anything else you may read. There is also a $3 charge for audience members (not Choir Members).

For both Festivals:

Please turn off all cell phones and noise makers. Hallways and main foyer are considered quiet zones as is the performance area. No photography or video recording is allowed.

We ask that you arrive promptly at the scheduled time. Arriving early will interfere with the Festival Organizers setting up the venue and arriving late could mean missing the warm up. Please take your children's coats, boots and other belongings with you as we do not have a space to hold these items. We expect every child to have a parent or guardian in attendance during each Festival as there will be no chaperones.

Festival is a formal place setting and we will be reviewing audience etiquette prior to our performance. Please discuss with your child how formal settings require certain behaviour expectations such as sitting quietly during performances, only getting up to leave between performances and listening carefully to instructions from adjudicators, teachers and directors. Please also note that no parent or choir member is to speak to the adjudicator unless on stage and addressed by them.

Please ensure you review these details carefully as we can be deducted marks or disqualified for unruly behaviour or interrupting performances.

Thank you!
